We are off for two train the trainers courses!

Following the training package development under the Preparedness for Oil-polluted Shoreline Cleanup and Oiled Wildlife interventions Project - POSOW II, two 4-day courses are being organised in the Centre of Documentation, Research and Experimentation on Accidental Water Pollution (Cedre)'s facilities, in Brest on the 19-22 and 26-29 April 2016. Six topics will be covered: volunteer management, shoreline assessment, shoreline cleanup, oiled wildlife response, fishermen’s support in response and waste management. The training includes both theoretical as well as practical sessions.

The 42 future trainers who take part in these courses are from civil protection, authorities and NGOs from seven South Mediterranean countries: Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey. Once trained, they will be responsible for establishing a pilot national training course in their respective countries. For that purpose, they will rely on the media which were developed within the framework of the project and which are available in their respective language.
