Train the Trainers Course for Libyan delegation, 22-24 November 2016

Due to the fact that Libyan delegation was unable to attend the initial TtT sessions, held in Brest, France, in April 2016, this TtT could take place thanks to the involvement of the POSOWII Partners, Cedre, ISPRA, FEPORTS and REMPEC, to duplicate the TtT programme in Tunisia and the kind support of the Mediterranean Oil Industry Group (MOIG), in ensuring the field exercises, and with the cooperation of Tunisian authorities who hosted kindly this special session of the TtT.

The main objectives of this event were to train trainers on oil-polluted shoreline assessment, oil-polluted shoreline clean-up, oil spill waste management, oil spill volunteers ‘management and fishermen’s support in oil spill response to strengthen local capabilities.
With the friendly support of MOIG’s members, the course was ended with a practical session on MARETAP and ECUMED PETROLEUM premises. Oil-polluted shoreline response was simulated in front of quarantine viewers.

This 3-day training course will able in a second phase, the 9 participants to become lecturers during a future National Pilot Training Course in Libya.
