Lebanon National Training Course, 21-23 September 2016

Within the framework of the POSOW II, the Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC) in co-operation with the Ministry of Environment (MoE) of the Lebanese Government, organized the National Training Course on Preparedness for Oil-Polluted Shoreline Clean-up and Oiled Wildlife Response, which was held in Beirut Naval Base, Lebanon, between 21 and 23 September 2016.

 

The training targeted representatives of the Civil Protection, local authorities and NGOs who could be involved, under the supervision of the competent authorities, on a voluntary basis, in oil spill response operations.

 

The main objectives of this event were to train trainees on oil spill voluntary management, oil-polluted shoreline assessment, oil-polluted shoreline clean-up and oiled wildlife response to strengthen local cooperation. Lecturers are the trained trainers during last TtT sessions held last April in Brest.
