Posow Project introduced at the OMI OPRC-HNS Technical Group 14th session

The OPRC-HNS Technical Group held its fourteenth session from 24 to 28 September 2012, in London, United Kingdom, under the chairmanship of Mr. Alexander von  Buxhoeveden (Sweden).

The session was attended by 32 delegates from 22 countries and fifteen observers from intergovernmental organizations and from non-governmental organizations in consultative status.

Under the point 5 of the agenda “Information services and exchange" and on the request of the REMPEC, the Cedre representative was very pleased to present the project on Preparedness for Oil-polluted Shoreline cleanup and Oiled Wildlife interventions ( POSOW) .  The PowerPoint presentation specially designed to promote the project and available on the project website was greatly helpful and appreciated by the audience.

The US delegate asked about the management of the volunteers and the representative of the International Spill Control Organization (ISCO) about the legal protection of the volunteers in case of injury.

The presentation of POSOW project is registered under the points 5.23 and 5.24 in the draft report of the Fourteenth Meeting of the OPRC-HNS Technical Group to Marine Environment Protection Committee
