Egypt National Pilot Training Course, 27-29 November 2016

Within the framework of the POSOW II, the Instituto Portuario de Estudios y Cooperación (FEPORTS) in co-operation with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), organized the National Pilot Training Course on Preparedness for Oil-Polluted Shoreline Clean-up and Oiled Wildlife Response, which was held in the Oil Spill Response Centre (OSRC, International Environmental & Marine Services) at Sharm-El-Sheikh (Egypt).

The training targeted representatives of the Civil Protection, local authorities and NGOs who could be involved, under the supervision of the competent authorities, on a voluntary basis, in oil spill response operations.

The main objectives of this event were to train trainees on oil-polluted shoreline clean-up, oil spill waste management, oil spill volunteers management, oiled wildlife response and fishermen’s support in oil spill response to strengthen local cooperation. Lecturers are the trained trainers during last TtT sessions held last April in Brest, France.
